To travel South Africa is to visit a large and extremely diverse country, a magnificent mixture of landscapes, climates and cultures - from big game viewing in Kruger National Park, the scenic Winelands and cosmopolitan Cape Town to the dramatic Garden Route, vast empty spaces in the Karoo and Little Karoo, scorched plains in the Kalahari desert the atmospheric battlefields and the glorious beaches and excellent coastal and wildlife reserves in Kwa Zulu Natal, South Africa's variety is thoroughly mindboggling.
A quick sample would include Kruger National Park or one of the surrounding private and exclusive game reserves, the vibrant city of Cape Town, nestling in the shadow of Table Mountain, and the gateway to the starkly beautiful Cape Peninsula. Behind the mountain lie the dappled vineyards and gastronomic delights of the Winelands and further east is the Garden Route, where sheer river canyons cut through darkly forested mountains down to a tumultuous coast. South Africa's cities are also enormously varied, with hustling Johannesburg and cosmopolitan Cape Town an enclave of European chic at the edge of the Atlantic Ocean.
While it is possible to fly everywhere, South Africa is a great self-drive destination and many of our guests include at least some self-drive elements in their journey which is a fantastic way to discover the beauty and diversity of South Africa.
