Back to Kakamega & Kerio Valley
Accommodation in Kakamega & Kerio Valley
 Tea Hotel
Tea Hotel is an inviting mansion set amid the tea plantations of Kericho about 2 Km from Kericho town. Built in the 1950’s, it has an old world air and a relaxing atmosphere. It features two bars, a lounge area with a pleasant terrace, a pool as well as beautiful well kept gardens which you can walk through to the tea fields beyond. Accommodation is offered in large and comfortable rooms within the main building as well as in cottages in the large and colourful grounds.
 Forest Rest House
Rudimentary accommodation is available in the clean and comfortable forest rest house, which is run by the Forest Department. The resthouse is on stilts and only has four double rooms with bathroom and toilet.
 Rondo Retreat
Rondo Retreat is a quiet homestead within the Kakamega Rain Forest offering an opportunity to those interested in the pursuit of hobbies such as a butterfly collection as well as beetle and frog enthusiasts, spider hunters or bird watchers. The homestead consists of the main house of clapboard and colonial era corrugated iron, and five cottages in the same old style, whose proximity to the forest makes for ideal accommodation.

There are fifteen en-suite double rooms within the retreat centre and three more double rooms that share a bathroom in the main house. No two rooms are designed or furnished in the same way. The bedrooms, sitting rooms and dining room have all been decorated and furnished with flair using things “old and new” – antique prints and photographs, local paintings, crafts and fabrics.

The Centre is not a typical hotel and owing to its Christian background does not serve alcohol. However the meals are quite delicious.

 Hotel Kerio View
The Kerio View hotel is located at the edge of Kerio Escarpment with a marvelous view of the Kerio Valley, 1000m below and the Tugen Hills to the east. The hotel is very tastefully furnished. It is close to Iten, the administrative centre not far from Eldoret town. Accommodation is offered in 14 self contained rooms which are spread out in the bush. For families with children, beds and cots can be provided at short notice. The restaurant offers mostly European food, and good wine is on offer at the bar. Kerio View is suitable for biking, paragliding, walks, photography with lots of birdlife.
