 Kapkuro Bandas
It is located in Mt. Elgon National Park at an altitude of 3,000m, . It has 4 units, each has one bedroom with one double and one single bed- bathroom ensuite. There is no linen or towels but blankets and kerosene lamps are provided. The Kitchen is furnished with utensils gas cooker and a barbecue areas outside. All guests provide their own firewood and drinking water. There is a spacious veranda running the full length of the house with a comfortable seating area, furnished with traditional coastal sofas and table. The sorrounding offers beautiful scenery with mountain peaks of Koitobus rising to 4200m; underground elephant caves; primate viewing as well as enjoying the flora. Activities include climbing and walking, cave exploration and geological safari. |

Lokitela
Lokitela Farm is an old farm home located in Kitale on the foothills of Mount Elgon. The farm's main preoccupation is dairyfarming and maize cultivation. Covering over 874 acres, a substantial piece of it is riverine forest. The farm is home to many bird species and a variety of small mammals. Accommodation is in two twin rooms with ensuite facilities and a family annex. The meals are taken either at the Farm or Ranch House with the family. Mt. Elgon national Park is only a short distance away with its rain forest, Bamboo zone and Afro-Alpine moorland, thousands of fruit bats and the famous elephant salt licks. While at the farm, visitors can visit the remote Cherangan Hide, built on wooden stilts along the eastern bank of the Suam River deep amidst the rural people of West Pokot where one can briefly experience the culture and lifestyle of these unique Kenyan people. Since the farm owners encourage an informal but friendly mode of interaction with the guests, they give guests an opportunity to participate in farming activities, engage in bad watching, nature walks or visit the Mt. Elgon national Park, Saiwa Camp or Kitum Caves.

You will sleep on a comfortable mattress in a strong mountain tent.The staff ensure that you are well looked after and you are provided with cold drinks, freshly prepared meals, soap, towels and safari toilets. Mt Elgon Lodge
Only 500 m from the gate on the slopes of Mt. Elgon the Mt. Elgon Lodge is situated allowing a panoramic view over the land below. The lodge is an old farm house converted into a simple, charming lodge with 14 ensuite rooms. The main building is a reminder of the colonial day passed by. Since the nights in Mt. Elgon can be quite cold and rain has to be expected at any time of the year, firm walls of Mt. Elgon Lodge might be more comfortable.
