Karen Blixen
Karen Blixen cottages are located
in Karen, a beautiful, peaceful
suburb approximately 20 minutes
from downtown Nairobi, in the
middle of one of the oldest gardens
in Kenya with huge jacaranda,
candelabra, cactus, bottlebrush,
and other trees. Over 200 types
of flowers bloom through the year
and attract hundreds of varieties
of birds. The cottages house up
to 30 guests and have been designed
after historic Swedo House to
give a sense of reliving history
in elegant style. All cottages
are well appointed and have hi-beam
ceilings with fireplaces, wood
and mazeras stone floors and a
verandah for relaxing while enjoying
the birds, butterflies and flowers
of the garden.

Kariaria House
Kariaria House is a pleasant bed

Kiambethu Tea Farm
Kiambethu Tea Farm, the family
home of one of the earliest tea
growers in Kenya, is situated
30 Km away from Nairobi. The farm
dates back to 1910 and the present
house set amidst colourful gardens,
has been home to four generations.
At Kiambethu the guests are given
an insight into the tea making
process followed by an opportunity
to see tea in the field. Accompanied
by the resident Kenyan guide,
guests can also take a short walk
into the small indigenous forest
and learn about the plants and
how they were used traditionally,
watch the Colobus monkeys and
birds who are resident in the
gardens or just enjoy the sweeping
views across the tea fields to
the Ngong Hills.
