There are bureaux de changes at the airports. Money can also be changed at banks. Banks are open from Monday to Friday between 0730 hours and 1530 hours.
Credit and Debit Cards are increasingly accepted in Maputo, but not generally beyond the capital. Travellers cheques are not commonly accepted, and where accepted are slow to process and often attract high rates of commission. Especially if you don’t enter the country in Maputo, it is advisable to take US Dollars with you to cover your cash requirements during your stay. |
