Back to Katavi
   Accommodation in Katavi
 Chada Katavi Camp
Chada Katavi is hidden on a shady spit of acacias and tamarinds on the edge of the wide Chada floodplain, a Mecca for game. From a distance, the camp is invisible against the browns and golds of the surrounding bush. Hidden in the trees that flank it are six guest tents, spread with crisp white Eygyptian cottons and thick floor rugs. The tents are large, romantic and airy with ensuite bathrooms and toilets, with the bottle of white wine sitting on your porch table perfectly chilled. During dinner time, the comfortable mess is converted into silverware and glasses shining in the lamplight.
 Katavi Wilderness Camp
This exclusive camp is situated in the best game area of Ruaha, so that you can watch the daily movements of game between food and water and witness the dramasof the wild unfold before you. It is a seasonal safari camp, only accessible during the dry season from April until December. The camp has six luxury tents with en suite bathrooms, pitched beneath the fringe of woodland outlining the Katavi floodplains. They are well furnished, set back amongst the trees that line the floodplain, providing both shade and camouflage in the prime game viewing area of the park. The camp is small and select with personalised hosting and guiding by an experienced professional guide.
 Katuma Katavi Tented Camp
Located in the centre of Katavi National Park on an elevated point overlooking the vast plains of Katisunga, Katuma Katavi Tented Camp offers ideal game viewing due to it's proximity to the Katuma and Kapapa Rivers, and easy access to the prime areas of Ikuu, Paradise and Lake Katavi. Tamarind and Acacia trees provide shade and the sunsets behind the distant woodlands surrounding the seasonal lake provide a background to Katavi's stunning scenery. Accommodation is provided in 12 tented bandas raised on wooden platforms all with a large private balcony overlooking the floodplain, placed meticulously to enhance the view. The tents are spacious with en suite tiled bathrooms with shower and toilet and 24 hour hot water. Each tent has ensuite facilities and there is a cosy communal dining area with views over the plains. The décor is of a precise selection to engulf you in the African Safari atmosphere. Each unit contains single or double wooden beds fitted with mosquito nets. Other furnishings in the unit include a writing desk and chair, bedside table, lamp and clothes rack. Meals are sumptuous consisiting of American breakfasts with tropical fruits and juices. Lunch and Dinners consist of a minimum of three gourmet courses from Italian, Chinese, American and Indian style. Meals are taken in the large dining area and there is a small bar in a seperate building. Sometimes a barbeque outside under the tamarind bushes offers an alternative dinner location. A campfire is lit each night to help enjoy the vast night sky. Game drives are taken in open sided safari vehicles while short guided walking safaris can also be taken from the camp.
