Kisima Ngeda
Kisima Ngeda is a small Luxury Tented Camp set in a stunning position on the shore of Lake Eyasi at the base of the Rift Valley escarpment. The camp is built in the shade of a grove of doum palms, on the eastern shore of the soda lake, with magnificent views across to the escarpment. The location is scenically stunning with great views to the north of the Ngorongoro Crater and Highlands with Lemagrut and Ol Deani mountains, both extinct volcanoes in the foreground. Views across the lake, especially those from the huge granite boulder behind the camp at sunset, are superb. It is owner-operated and some of the food supplies to the lodge are produced locally at the farm on which the lodge sits.
Accommodation is built from stone and features en-suite bathrooms with hot and cold running water.
It also offers one a chance to visit the Hadzape, one of the last click-speaking hunter gatherer tribes. There is also some great walking to be done here, with possible sightings of striped hyena, bushbuck, reedbuck, hippos, dik dik, African hares, various smaller wild cats and mongoose. There's also some great bird life along the lakeshore - pelicans and sometimes flamingos and plenty of waders. |
