Lake Eyasi, located south of the Serengeti National Park and immediately southwest of the Ngorongoro Crater in the Crater Highlands area of Tanzania, is one of several lakes on the floor of the East African Rift Valley. Set in a wild, still nearly unexplored landscape, the lake is mildly alkaline and stretches for about 50 km to the southwest. To the northeast, the horizon is dominated by the impressive Crater Highlands, to the north, the plains of the Serengeti. You can take walks along the shores and spend the afternoon exploring the area spaced with huge ancient Boabab trees in search for view points over Lake Eyasi. As the sun sets on the western shores you get to bed early and the following morning, you and your guide will search for a Hadza family who will be ready to take you on a bows and arrows hunting expedition on which you will see their astonishing ability to track and hunt small game.
