Jongomero Camp
Jongomero Camp, is a luxury safari
camp set under shady acacia trees
on the banks of the Jongomero
Sand River in the remote south-western
sector of Ruaha. Eight large tented
suites, under enormous thatched
roofs encompass a spacious private
veranda ensuring unmatched privacy.
The comfortable dining and living
offers a great vantage to take
in the sights and sounds of the
African bush that surrounds the
Camp, as does the natural rock
pool for those hot days. Open
plains, tranquil river scenes
and great herds of buffaloes enveloped
in clouds of dust as they make
their way through the acacia woodlands
are visible from the lodge. |

Mdonya Old River Camp
Mdonya Old River Camp is for people
looking for a genuine, off the
beaten track, round-the-campfire
experience. It is located in the
north western part of the Ruaha
National Park beside the old course
of the Mdonya River and it takes
around 2 hours to drive from the
airstrip, which guarantees a rare
privacy as few other vehicles
will be seen in the area.
Guests are accommodated in 11
large tents, well spaced along
side the course of the old river.
Simply furnished, each tent has
a double or twin bed with an en-suite
bathroom that has a flush toilet
and open air shower. There is
no electricity in the tents and
light is provided by candles making
this a true safari experience.
The dining and lounge tents sit
under sycamore fig trees overlooking
the dry river bed which is used
by game as a corridor, so that
guests can enjoy the game viewing
while having lunch or relaxing.
It is not unusual to see Lion
in or around the camp, as well
as Elephant and Buffalo. The food
here is really tasty home cooking
ensuring you will leave here a
little heavier. |

Mwagusi Safari Camp
Mwagusi Safari Camp nestles in
the banks of the Mwagusi Sand
River in Ruaha National Park.
It is ideally located for game
viewing and bird watching and
guests can see over 80 species
of animal and 480 species of bird.
Managed and hosted by Chris Fox,
the camp has a real “bush”
ambience and features the main
bar and dining areas which are
thatched and have comfortable
sitting out areas with great views
onto a patch of water that attracts
plenty of game. Accommodation
is offered in ten large tents
under thatched roofs with ensuite
bathrooms which are built facing
out onto the river bed. The balconies
with hammocks are a real treat
after a bumpy game drive. One
of the most memorable experiences
at Mwagusi is open air dining
with the African night sky above
you. The dining table is laid
in the bed of the dry sand river
and drinks are served around a
blazing camp fire under the steep
river bank. |

Ruaha River Lodge
Ruaha River Lodge has a stunning
location overlooking the Great
Ruaha River and blends into its
natural surroundings which makes
visitors feel like being a part
of the wild. It seems to grow
from every rocky outcrop and crevice
in winding paths, linking clusters
of fairly basic stone and thatch
bandas. The lodge has been divided
into three distinct areas and
guests may require safari vehicle
transfers to one of the vast central
dining bandas. The dining bandas
and bars are in elevated positions
and offer panoramic views of the
river. Accommodation is offered
in twenty bandas with ensuite
bathrooms built from local stone
and thatch. From the seclusion
of your veranda you can watch
wild animals as they descend from
the hills to quench their thirst
and feed.
