Accommodation: Tarangire

Boundary Hill Lodge:

Boundary Hill Lodge is located high above the savannah, perched among trees and rock outcrops on the edge of Tarangire National Park. It consists of eight spacious individually designed rooms. All rooms offer comfort and understated luxury, each with private sitting areas, spacious balconies and spectacular views. All have en-suite facilities with separate showers. Five are double suites with cast-iron baths. Centrally located, in a natural hollow and within easy reach of all the rooms, is the swimming pool, which has the natural rock features as its walls. The dining and bar areas have been built to capitalise on the surrounding views. Natural terraces have been enhanced to provide intimate areas in which to relax and savour the sights and sounds of the savannah below. The lodge is located on the main migration route for a large proportion of the Tarangire wildlife. It offers outstanding views over the Silale and Gosuwa swamps, where elephant and buffalo graze among the acacia and baobab trees.


Kikoti Camp:

Kikoti is a Maasai word for "the place where life began". This luxury-tented camp offers accommodation in ten tents that have been laid out in the traditional safari manner with wooden beds, fresh linen and a veranda from with views of the wetlands in the valley below. The tents have been raised on platforms of natural timber and have awesome views of the purple sunsets across the wide open savannah. Positioned in the migration corridor, Kikoti offeres a wide range of acivities including game drives, nature walks, foot safaris and bush trekking with rangers to the primeral state of nature, uncovering the dens and feeding habits of African wildlife through the African savannah and Acacia parkland.


Maramboi Tented Camp:

Maramboi Tented Camp offers permanent camp facilities and endless vistas of rolling golden grasslands and palm lined desert between Tarangire and Manyara lake. It is a complete semi desert experience focusing on safari walks and game drives. The Camp has 20 tents with kingsize beds or twins, each with a specious private verandah. All tents have toilets and safari showers, dressing table, safari chairs and bed side table with lamps. The camp offers stunning views of the Lake Manyara National Park, Rift Valley, Ngorongoro highlands and on clear days even Oldonyo Lengai a sacred mountain to the Maasai. In the wet season, the Manyara and Tarangire Pans fill with water which attracts huge flocks of flamingos and other wading birds. A visit to the area is essential for anyone interested in evolution and the origins of mankind and an explanation of the Rift Valley and Africa's big picture. Although the migrations do occur in other areas of Tanzania, the tree cover prohibits a view of the magnitude that you are able to see at Maramboi Camp because of the exposed nature of the surrounding grassland.


Olivers Camp:

Olivers Camp is situated in the exclusive southern part of Tarangire Park, in the park´s unspoilt wilderness zone far away from other lodges and camps where off-road game driving and walking safaris are allowed. The camp is close to the stunning Silale swamps and overlooks the spectacular Minyonyo Pools floodplain. In addition to game drives, the camp offers exceptional guided bush walks which focus on fascinating aspects in the wilderness which are often overlooked during safaris and allow guests to have an even greater appreciation for the wonders of nature. The 9 guest tents are well spaced, ensuring a feeling of exclusivity and intimacy. The camp design and atmosphere provide a classical bush experience: solid wooden furniture, comfortable chairs and a library with books on the surrounding nature & wildlife. The tents have excellent bathroom facilities, with running hot and cold water, flush toilets, double basins and proper showers looking out over the plains. After activities, guests find a place to reflect and relax on their private veranda, in the lounge and library tent or dining tent or around the fireplace. Dinners are served in the dining tent or under the incredible African sky. The camp crew has been a close team for many years and this clearly shows in the deep knowledge of the park and the quality of food and personal service.


Swala Camp:

Sheltered beneath a canopy of Acacia Tortilis, Swala Camp is located in a remote and secluded corner of Tarangire, 70 kilometers into the park. With stands of ancient baobab trees, large family herds of elephants, prolific bird life and dry season concentrations of wildlife, the Camp offers you a setting that makes your safari feel a classic African experience and. Swala's nine private, permanent tents feature ensuite bathrooms with showers, complemented by fittings and fixtures crafted from local materials to mirror the elegance of the traditional safari style. The elevated terraces on the tents are facing a waterhole that attracts wildlife year-round. The resident wildlife includes waterbuck, lion, elephants and impala after which the camp is named. There is even a resident leopard that puts in the occasional guest appearance at the waterhole during dinner.


Tarangire River Lodge:

Tarangire River Lodge is set outside the Tarangire National Park overlooking the Tarangire River. It features a lounge and dining area with a view of the river which are centred around an enormous Baobab tree. Accommodation is offered in 20 thatched tents raised on wooden platforms. Some of the front row tents have a view of the river from their balconies and part of the honey moon tent's balcony extends to surround a tree. All tents have ensuite bathrooms with flush toilets and showers.


Tarangire Treetops:

Tarangire Treetops Camp is set in its own private game reserve overlooking Tarangire Sand River and bordering the Tarangire National Park. The camp blends into the environment with the platforms built into a variety of Baobab, Mopani and Wild Fig trees. Common areas include a dining area situated close to the swimming pool and water hole as well as a thatched open-air library with a selection of cultural and wildlife reference books. Accommodation is offered in 20 spacious tree houses which are widely spread out and reached by a spiral staircase. They have a private balcony, double shower and a wall which is almost completely covered by mosquito netting allowing guests to leave the blinds open at night and watch the arrival of dawn from the comfort of their beds. Being outside the National Park guests can do bush walks, night drives and even mountain biking excursions with an armed ranger.
