Emerson & Green:

Mbweni Ruins Hotel is situated on a beach in the outskirts of Zanzibar town, in botanic gardens by the Indian Ocean shores. Back in 1885, the Wazir to Sultan Said Bargash built a wonderful house of fine architectural design near the bustling fish and fruit markets. The house hosts an authentic Café in the basement, reflecting the classical Zanzibar architecture with arches, boritis ceilings and thick walls. Furnished with solid furniture and elegant lamps the atmosphere is truly unique and inviting. The Café serves a variety of coffee creations, which are all based on our own coffee production on Zanzibar and the highlands of Tanzania. Above the Café and the roasting room, the house offers ten individually furnished and air-conditioned rooms to guests who seek the unique experience of staying in an authentic coffee house. The small size of the Hotel offers great privacy to the guests who have also exclusive access to the Teahouse on top of the building which makes an amazing place for a wonderful breakfast with fresh croissants, cakes, muffins and cookies from the in-house bakery.

Zanzibar Palace Hotel:
Zanzibar Palace Hotel is an old Sultan's palace situated within Old Stone Town. Accommodation is offered in 9 rooms on 4 floors, decorated to reflect the diverse cultures and heritage of Zanzibar. Some rooms have balconies with views over town and out to the ocean. The room sizes vary from 25 square meters on the lower floor to 70 square meters on the upper floors with either views of the town or the ocean. One of the rooms has a staircase to an open air bathroom which has a sundeck, one of the highest points in Town from where the sun can be seen rising and setting. Some rooms can accommodate up to 4 people so ideal for families. All rooms are air-conditioned and served with cable TV connection. In addition, the rooms have, mosquito nets, fans, DVD players, telephone, safes, hair dryer, internet access as well as 24 hour room service.

Changuu Private Island Paradise:
Also known as Prison Island, this is a private white beach sorrounded by pristine waters and harmoniously combines the intense history of the islet with its adaptation to modern facilities. The main building of the island, so called prison ruins, was collapsed and it has been restored as it was at the time of construction in 1893. The prison is nowadays a major site cultural area of the island. The resident community of Aldara Tortoises that settled in Changuu in 1920's can be visited in their residency, the tortoise sanctuary. Visitors can enjoy the stretch of the private beach or the swimming pool, the sun beds, have a massage, go on boat trips or snorkeling or go on nature trails.
There are 15 exclusive deluxe rooms in the north-west side of the island, distributed along the sea-line and roofed with makuti to afford a cool atmosphere day and night. In the south-west side of the islandis the former Quarantine Area built in 1931 and now converted into 12 elegant ensuite rooms with sea view.

Chumbe Island:
Accommodation consists of seven open design bungalows, with minimal barriers to the open air, a form of natural air-conditioning. All bungalows overlook the sea and it takes just 30 seconds to stroll from the comforts of the bungalow hammock to the ocean. All bungalows are equipped with double or twin beds in the sleeping area under the palm-thatched roof, self-contained bathrooms. The large living rooms are equipped with handmade furniture and decorated with African art and colourful fabrics.
Dining takes place under the impressive roof of the visitor's centre, which overlooks the sea between Zanzibar and mainland Tanzania. The chefs provide a mixture of Zanzibarian, Arabic, Indian and African tastes. The whole of Chumbe Island is a nature reserve and guests may explore its beauties either under the guidance of the park rangers. Snorkel through the shallow water Reef Sanctuary or explore the Forest Reserve and historical monuments or take an excursion out Scuba diving the nearby reefs. Fumba Beach is situated along two kilometres of coastline on the Indian Ocean offering three secluded and exclusive beaches. It has 26 rooms scattered throughout the extensive grounds, shaded by a forest of baobab trees and palm fronds. Kichanga Lodge:
Kichanga Lodge is situated on a beautiful beach on the Ras Michamvi peninsular on the south eastern Coast of Zanzibar. The lodge was built on a coral reef, overlooking the stunningly white sandy and palm fringed beach and the turquoise Indian Ocean. It consists of 24 spacious cottages with a private verandah and an en-suite bathroom. The rooms are decorated with African arts and simply furnished with Zanzibar furniture, mosquito nets, fans, room safe and minibar.
The main building on the top of the cliff hosts the reception, restaurant and bar, internet point and library. The lodge also offers a small swimming pool and a massage parlour close to the beach.

Matemwe Beach Villages:
Matemwe Beach Village is a small guesthouse along stretch of palm-lined, white sand beach, situated on the northeast coast of Zanzibar. Along the beach are palm-thatched villages, where friendly local people live a traditional life dominated by fishing. There are 16 makuti-thatched rooms and 6 suites, one of which - the Asali suite - is completely self-contained. All rooms are in close proximity of the beachfront. Seven of these are located at the front of the grounds; just far enough from the beach to give protection against the wind, which sometimes buffets the coastline, but close enough to afford a scenic view of the ocean. The romantic new honeymoon suite with its open living spaces, circular pool, outdoor bathroom has its own chef and private beach.
The lodge is centred around a single large open-sided space looking onto the beach, which serves at the lounge, bar and restaurant. The restaurant offers freshly caught seafood, delicately flavored with Zanzibar's famous spices. Just off-shore from the guesthouse is the world-famous Mnemba Atoll, whose circling reef has some of the best diving in East Africa. Regularly seen here are turtles and dolphins and if you are lucky enough you may see whale sharks and pilot whales. Other activities include beach walks, early-morning ocean swims, snorkeling, sailing, fishing and bicycling.

Matemwe Retreat is located on a stretch of private land, just north of Matemwe's main lodge and right opposite the Mnemba Atoll. Pongwe Beach Hotel:
Pongwe Beach is a small hotel set on a secluded bay on the east coast of Zanzibar with exclusive access to one of the most beautiful beaches in Zanzibar. Shooting Star:
The Shooting Star Hotel is located on Kiwengwa Beach, on the north-east coast of Zanzibar. The small, family-run hotel is situated on rocks 20 meters above the sea amidst lush tropical gardens with fabulous views of the Indian Ocean and towards the coral reef beyond. Accommodation is built in traditional Zanzibari style, with white limewashed walls, high beamed ceilings and large windows. The Zamani Zanzibar Kempinski is a large and luxurious oceanfront hotel located on the prestigious northeast coast of Zanzibar. The first 5-Star internationally branded hotel on the spice island, the hotel has a commanding ocean front position and is set within 30 acres of landscaped gardens. Accommodation is offered in 117 rooms, suites and luxury villas all featuring private terraces or balconies with views over landscaped gardens to the ocean. As it is located on a cliff, the hotel does not have its own beach front. However, there is a beautiful private beach a couple of hundred meters south of the hotel which hotel guests can use exclusively. At low tide, you can walk to this beach and the hotel provides a boat shuttle service there as well.
