Bushara Island
Bushara Island camp is a small ecolodge located 9 km from Kabale town on Bushara Island in the middle of Lake Bunyonyi South Western Uganda. Access is by private motorboat. The camp offers accommodation in 8 furnished tents with verandahs overlooking the lake (3 superior and 5 standard) with large patios, the tent and patio is covered by a papyrus thatched roof. Additionally the Kingfisher and Pita Cottages offer one and two bedroom facilities for those unsure about a night under canvas. Each is privately situated with is own bathing facility and all superior tents have private composting toilets adjacent. Standard tents share toilet facilities, while the cottages offer private patios with expansive lake views, mosquito nets over each bed and private toilet and bathing facilities.
The Swallows Restaurant allows you the choice of eating indoors or out. It provides friendly service and a choice of good meals - freshwater crayfish is a speciality. A bonfire is lit in the evenings and dancing enlivens the proceedings. Volcanic Lake Bunyoni is safe for swimming and there are opportunities for sailing, canoeing, and windsurfing. The verdant hills, eucalyptus trees and papyrus swamps contains more than 200 bird species. Other activities include cultural and birding tours, walking trails, night-time trips on the lake and water sports. The camp makes a relaxing stopover on the way to and from gorilla tracking or a peaceful retreat in beautiful surroundings.

Byoona Amagara
The island resort is situated at Itambila island at the heart of lake Bunyonyi. The Byoona Amagara name translates loosely as 'Whole Life' in Rukiga, the native tongue of the local Bakiga people. Accommodation ranges from private cottages, cabins, geo-domes, single and twin dormitories and camping space. The island resort’s facilities include a gift shop and Boutique which sells local crafts, gifts and basic items, a library and multi-media learning centre with a computer lab, film screening room, exhibition gallery and a fully stocked library The main hall contains a spacious lounge, large sitting deck and a canteen. Its location allows stunning views of the lake and Bwamba Island; toilets and showers; all well-maintained and on-site to allow easy accessibility by guests.
