I was originally recommended the company by a co-worker. I got on the web site and it was great…very informative and easy to navigate. Also, the staff showed amazing initiative in planning our trip and quick response with setting up the itinerary. I had a wonderful experience with Enchanting-Africa. They set up a great itinerary and all activities were enjoyable and highly unique. I made friends with others along the way, but also found the schedule left time for my boyfriend and I to explore Africa ourselves. I could not have asked for a better travel experience!

We travelled to Tanzania in June/July 2007 with four daughter’s aged from 9-14years of age. Enchanting Africa went to great lengths to tailor make the holiday to get exactly what we desired. Considerable effort was made in checking and rechecking our expectations. As a result we spent 3 weeks including 9 days on safari on a trip of a life time. The variety of terrain was staggering and the accommodation was superb. The itinerary was well thought out that at no time did a child complain of boredom due to lack of variety. We all returned home with feelings of elation and an intense desire to go back and see more. It was terrific having Enchanting-Africa just a phone call away when we couldn’t get cash etc at no point did we feel let down.

Saadani Lodge, Zanzibar Palace and especially Ras Kutani are fantastic locations that we will always remember, and which we might not have found ourselves. The safari experience in Selous was also excellent! I’m happy we went off the beaten track (Ngorongoro, Serengeti) as recommended by Florian. Well done! The fact that we were on honeymoon resulted in a special treatment in many of the locations (e.g. suite in Movenpick, private dinners in Hakuna Majiwe and Ras Kutani). The pace and timing of the trip were exactly as we wanted it. Specials like the Dhow trip really made a difference. Also the drive from Saadani to Dar gave us the feeling that we got to see something of the country (including the Masai village we visited). During our trip we didn’t have to think at all, we could simply relax and enjoy because everything was well arranged in advance. I cannot remember a vacation where I didn’t wear a watch, or had no phone nor money in my pocket for 2.5 weeks. Ideal! The pace and timing of the trip were exactly as we wanted it. Specials like the Dhow trip really made a difference. Enchanting-Africa made our honeymoon an unforgettable experience. They understood exactly what it was that we wanted and found the perfect itinerary within our budget. Our trip had exactly the right pace, and we stayed in some of the most fantastic (romantic) spots we have ever seen. The safari experience in Selous (Tanzania) was incredibly good. In addition, Enchanting-Africa came up with some original ideas like a sea crossing by local dhow (sail boat). The whole trip was completely stressless and hassle free. We could always reach our Enchanting-Africa contact for questions through the phone card they provided us with. Without Enchanting-Africa the trip would have been very different. We will definitely recommend Enchanting-Africa to our friends.

We had a thoroughly “Enchanting” honeymoon in Africa. Incredible safaris with brilliant guides, magical sunsets looking over the bush with a cold glass of gin and tonic in one hand and delicious home made nibbles in the other, captivating camps, carnivore kills, chaotic crossings, and a tranquil and laid back end soaking up the atmosphere in Zanzibar town and lounging on a perfect tropical beach. The Enchanting Africa team were wonderful – their suggestions and recommendations for places to stay were spot on, their attention to detail and high levels of service were exemplary; but it was the little touches that made it special – the local SIM card pre-loaded with credit and important numbers, the unobtrusive calls in the week to see how we were getting on – that made it so special.

The very best part was the variety of experiences we had, animals, culture. Everyday was unique. I completed the questionnaire on-line for “custom travel to Africa” as a joke, to see how outrageously expensive it would be. To my amazement, it was more affordable than a local agent and included exactly what we wanted to see. Even more amazing? We had personal service every step of the way, both through e-mail and personal phone calls. The staff answered every question, even those I asked more than once. The trip Enchanting-Africa planned met or exceeded all our expectations. They truly listened to what we wanted; every day was a unique experience. We felt safe everywhere we went, the guides were knowledgeable and flexible in meeting our needs, and the accommodations/food the perfect mix (for us) of adventure and relaxation. One camp we were scheduled to stay at overbooked. Before we knew anything about it, the staff had upgraded us to an alternate place that was wonderful. Each step along the way, we were fully briefed on trip details, as well as camp expectations. We have travelled all over the world, with a variety of companies and prices. Enchanting-Africa is the best company we ever used, the most accommodating people, the best adventure. I recommend them without reservation.

Thanks to Florian and all the team at Enchanting Africa, we had the most fantastic honeymoon. Florian and his team spent a lot of time with us planning our trip and were always keen to make proposals until we felt that the trip was exactly how we wanted it. We really had the feeling that he was passionate about making this trip everything we wanted it to be. The places that were recommended were each truly exceptional and exactly what we were after in that every place felt so exclusive in their own way. Each place chosen was also very different in the type of scenery, experience and activities provided which therefore made for a great combination. Joan kept checking on us to make sure that all was going to plan which made us feel really safe and looked after. We have already started raving on to all our friends about the great service we received and we hope to be in touch soon for another great trip. Thanks again so much for everything!

One of the highlights during the planning of our tour to Zambia was the intensive interview of Florian Keller to find out our expectations, our experience and also our hidden wishes. This was the basis that Enchanting-Africa could meet our expectations nearly 100% in some cases more than that. During the short planning period we had always the feeling of a really willing to give the best even after the 5th change of our plans, every question was answered immediately even on weekends. You are never aware of changes during such a tour especially at the beginning and end of the season because of the weather condition. Enchanting-Africa handled such an unexpected problem immediately within a few hours very professional. We think that this shows a really professional tour organisation. The selection of local operators could not have been better, none of our many and sometimes very special questions remained unanswered. The selected guides belong to the very best among the guides we have had within the last 12 years in Africa. Not to forget, we have seen nearly all the wildlife which we have expected to see and have seen as a highlight our special interest on this trip, the highly endangered wild dogs as close as never before. As far as it is possible after just one experience of a trip with Enchanting-Africa, we can highly recommend this company.

Enchanting Africa organised an outstanding trekking safari for me. The accommodation varied from camping, though with a high standard of comfort, to bandas. On each leg of the trip, the guides’ knowledge of birds, animals and plants was outstanding. Transfers from one leg to another were smooth and trouble free. Enchanting Africa met me on arrival in Nairobi, and were also there at my departure, right up to check-in. One day, I hope to do a similar safari to areas I didn’t go to this time. When I do, it’ll be with Enchanting Africa, I won’t even consider anybody else.

I was really hesitant to use a travel group for this trip - my husband and I are very independent travelers - but boy I am glad I did! Our trip was so incredible thanks to Enchanting Africa, who took care of every detail yet still allowed us to make the trip feel like our own. Joan, our trip manager, was extremely service-oriented - she even tracked down a new part for our camera and delivered it to us mid-trip!! And the fantastic service started before that - in planning, Hildy really listened to what we wanted and Florian even called me very late at night (his time) to help make some final decisions. The whole thing was very last-minute on our end and yet it was handled so professionally on their end! Every place they recommended was fantastic - really off the beaten track. We felt like we really got to interact with people and be a part of the culture of Kenya.
