Arrival in Nairobi |
| Welcome to
Enchanting-Africa! Our tour manager
will receive you at the airport in
Nairobi and take you to your hotel
for check in.
Explore Nairobi, the safari capital
of Africa and a city that never seems
to sleep. Experience one of the lively
and colourful street markets, the
fantastic music scene and one of the
many excellent restaurants. Alternatively,
discover the Karen Blixen museum,
giraffe centre where you can feed
giraffes or venture into Nairobi National
Park, just outside town, with its
cliffs and forests and large herds
of Zebra, Wildebeest, Buffalo, Giraffe
and more.

| Day: 2 |
Lake Nakuru |
| Drive Nairobi
– Lake Nakuru (ca. 2.5 hours)
Lake Nakuru is one of the alkaline
Rift Valley lakes with its shores
populated at times by more than one
million flamingos which has been called
"the greatest bird spectacle
on earth". Game drives offer
you the opportunity to get as close
as ten meters to this spectacle and
to see elephants, giraffe, rhino and
the elusive tree climbing lions. Enjoy
the variety of wildlife combined with
its striking and varied landscapes
- driving through the savannah, passing
by the lake and the swamps and negotiating
the rocky path up to the baboon cliffs
with their stunning views across the
entire park will create a sense of
wonder and admiration in even the
most travelled visitor.

| Day: 3 - 7 |
Mt Elgon |
| Drive from Lake
Nakuru to Mt Elgon via the spectacular
Tugen Hills (ca. 7 hours)
Set on the Kenyan-Ugandan border,
Mount Elgon National Park encompasses
the 4,321 metre mountain for which
it is named, which has the largest
base of any extinct volcano in the
world. A lush mosaic of Afro-montane
forest, grassland, moorland habitats
and a huge caldera at the top surrounded
by a series of rugged peaks makes
this park a highly rewarding destination
for hikers and other natural history
enthusiasts.
While ascending Mt Elgon's enchanting
slopes, you will pass through dense
montane forest and mixed bamboo belts
teeming with birdlife. You will then
enter the fascinating heath and moorland
zones containing several interesting
endemic plant species while wildlife
enthusiasts will be pleased to spot
primates and hundreds of fascinating
bird species. If you are particularly
observant you can also see buffalo,
duiker, hyena or even the elusive
leopard.
In addition to the interesting and
unique flora and fauna, you can expect
to experience magnificent waterfalls,
scenic peaks and gorges, mesas, calderas,
hot springs which bubble up at 48'C
and enormous caves where frequent
night visitors such as elephants and
buffaloes come to lick the natural
salt found on the cave walls.

| Day: 8 - 10 |
Lake Victoria |
| Drive to Lake
Victoria (ca. 2 hours)
Bujagali Falls, which lies downstream
of the Source of the Nile in Jinja
two hours drive east of Kampala, is
the East African counterpart to more
southerly ‘adrenaline capitals’
such as Victoria Falls and Cape Town.
Bujagali is the launching point for
a white-water rafting route that ranks
as one of most thrilling but also
one of the safest in the world, passing
through three heart-stopping Grade
Five rapids in one day. Other activities
at Bujagali include kayaking, mountain
biking, quad-biking and a new 44 metre-high
bungee jump from a cliff above the
Nile.

| Day: 11 - 16 |
Rwenzori Mountains |
| Drive from Lake
Victoria to Rwenzoris (6-8 hours)
The Rwenzori Mountains are located
on the Uganda-Congo border just north
of the Equator and are often referred
to as the Mountains of the Moon due
to their legendary beauty. The mountain
range has six peaks, the highest of
which is 5,109 metres, making it the
third highest in Africa after Mount
Kilimanjaro and Mount Kenya. The mountains
are covered in interesting flora and
fauna, and there are many wild flowers
and stunning birds as well as giant
Lobelia and groundsel of up to 10
metres.
Technical knowledge - ropes, crampons
and appropriate mountaineering equipment
- is advised for reaching Margherita
peak, which is often covered in snow

Kampala |
| Drive from

transfer to International Airport
