| Day: 1 |
Arrival in Dar es Salaam |
| Welcome to Enchanting-Africa! Our tour manager will receive you at the airport in Dar es Salaam and take you to your hotel for check in.
Located in a quiet bay off the Indian Ocean coast, Dar es Salaam has become a prosperous centre of the entire East African region. Its bustling harbour is the main port in Tanzania and a visit to the daily fish market is a memorable experience.
Explore the remnants of colonial presence, both German and British, which can still be seen in the landmarks and architecture around the city. The National Museum, the Village Museum, and many colourful markets are well worth a visit. Numerous historical landmarks, including St. Joseph's Cathedral, the White Father's Mission House, the Botanical Gardens, and the old State House make for an interesting walking tour around the waterfront and city centre.
Accommodation: Royal Palm Mövenpick or Sea Cliff |

| Day: 2-4 |
Selous |
| Morning Flight
Dar es Salaam – Selous (ca. 45min)
Selous Game Reserve is Africa’s
largest protected wildlife reserve,
and due to its remote location, it
has remained one of the untouched
gems of Tanzania’s parks.
The Rufiji River is the striking feature
of the game reserve and home to a plethora
of varied water and bird life. Along
its shores, hippos sleep languidly in
the mud and sun themselves and crocodiles
are common along the riverbanks. Boating
safaris offer you a chance to see the
diverse life along the river up close
and walking safaris and fly camping
add a sense of adventure to your African
experience.
Accommodation: Sand Rivers Selous
or Selous Mbega Camp |
 |
| |
| Day: 5-6 |
Zanzibar |
Flight Selous - Zanzibar (ca. 1.5
hours)
Stone Town is the old city and cultural
heart of Zanzibar, little changed
in the last 200 years. It is a place
of winding alleys, bustling bazaars,
mosques and grand Arab houses whose
original owners vied with each other
over the extravagance of their dwellings
which is particularly reflected in
the brass-studded, carved, wooden
doors. You can spend many idle hours
and days just wandering through the
fascinating labyrinth of narrow streets
and alleyways.
Accommodation: Emerson &
Green or Tembo Hotel

| Day: 7-9 |
Pemba |
Morning Flight Zanzibar – Pemba (ca. 45min), Transfer to lodge (ca. 1.5 hours)
Enjoy a real Robinson Crusoe experience on one of three yachts permanently moored in a beautiful lagoon in the northern end of Pemba Island. Beautiful sceneries, idyllic getaway and relaxing feel. Basic and rustic accommodation, most nights on the deck of the yacht under the stars.
Pemba is seldom visited and very laid-back and the island offers an intriguing, largely undiscovered culture and spectacular diving. The surrounding Islands, many of which are uninhabited and have tantalising white beaches beckon to be explored.
Accommodation: Pemba Afloat
|
 |
| |
| Day: 10-12 |
Pemba |
Boat transfer on Pemba (ca. 1.5 hours)
Pemba is a particular good place to mix sailing and diving as it is spectacular both above and below the water. It is a truly unspoilt paradise with dolphins under the bow and the occasional African dhow sailing by. Enjoy the rustic but luxurious ambience of your lodge situated on a remote and peaceful beach on the southwest of Pemba Island and is only accessible by boat. The Arabian sailing dhows are still actively used by the local fishermen and traders and it is quite a sight to see a fleet of over 20 large dhows sailing past at sunset.
Accommodation: Fundu Lagoon
or Manta Reef |
 |
| |
| Day: 13-15 |
Saadani |
Morning transfer to local airstrip and flight to Zanzibar (ca. 2 hours), Dhow Trip Zanzibar – Saadani (4-5 hours)
Saadani is unique for its extraordinary diversity of scenery and wildlife. Beach, bush and river have been thrown together in such a colourful clash of ecosystems that there is nothing to compare with it anywhere on the Eastern Coast of Africa. The Wami River, which passes through the park and empties into the Indian Ocean, hosts a large population of hippos, crocodiles, flamingos, and many large bird species and is a wonderful place for early morning or sunset boat safaris. Elephants are occasionally viewed bathing and playing on Saadani's beach, and sometimes venturing into the crashing surf, which alone makes Saadani one of the most special parks to visit in Tanzania.
Accommodation: The Saadani Safari Lodge or Tent with a View
|
 |
| |
| Day: 16 |
Dar es Salaam |
Speedboat ride Saadani – Bagamoyo (45 min), road transfer to Dar es Saalam and transfer to International Airport for departure (1.5 hours)
Take a walk back in time in the town that used to be the capital of Germany's East Africa colony as a convenient stop over on your way from Saadani to Dar es Salaam.
