The Aberdares offer striking mountain scenery - a mix of the alps combined with stretches of dense jungle and amazing waterfalls, with the largest a stunning 300m plunge. You can also see lots of animals as the park has a high concentration of buffaloes, elephants, hyenas and the rare bongo antelope. You can relax while fishing at the lovely streams, explore the waterfalls on foot or climb Lesatima Peak, with 4000 metres the highest point of the Aberdares with great views of Central Kenya.

Day: 4-5 Lake Nakuru

Drive Aberdares – Lake Nakuru (ca. 5 hours)

Lake Nakuru is one of the alkaline Rift Valley lakes with its shores populated at times by more than one million flamingos which has been called "the greatest bird spectacle on earth". Game drives offer you the opportunity to get as close as ten meters to this spectacle and to see elephants, giraffe, rhino and the elusive tree climbing lions. Enjoy the variety of wildlife combined with its striking and varied landscapes - driving through the savannah, passing by the lake and the swamps and negotiating the rocky path up to the baboon cliffs with their stunning views across the entire park will create a sense of wonder and admiration in even the most travelled visitor.

Lake Naivasha is a beautiful freshwater lake, fringed by thick papyrus and surrounded by forests which abound with bird life, making Naivasha a world class birding destination. Enjoy a stunning sunset during a boat trip on the lake, an afternoon hike or biking trip in Hell’s Gate National Park or a leisurely horse riding safari.
Climbing the extinct volcano Mt Longonot makes a great day hike with amazing views of its spectacular crater as well as the dramatic Rift Valley and Lake Naivasha.

The Masai Mara – endless seas of golden grass dotted with hesitant shrubs, broken here and there with the ghostly acacia trees and ringed by distant hills, the chocolate Mara river waters with frolicking hippos, immensely rich animal life including countless game and large prides of lions – fulfils the expectations of any visitor searching the African landscapes portrayed in movies such as "Out of Africa". From July to October, this is the sight of one of the most spectacular and dramatic sites on earth - the annual migration of one million wildebeests and 200,000 zebras following the seasonal rains in a quest for the best pastures, finding along the way the crocodile-crowded river.
