Game drives offer you the opportunity to get as close as ten meters to this spectacle and to see elephants, giraffe, rhino and the elusive tree climbing lions. Enjoy the variety of wildlife combined with its striking and varied landscapes - driving through the savannah, passing by the lake and the swamps and negotiating the rocky path up to the baboon cliffs with their stunning views across the entire park will create a sense of wonder and admiration in even the most travelled visitor.

Day: 6 - 7

Lake Baringo & Bogoria

Drive Lake Nakuru – Lake Baringo (ca. 2 hours)

Lake Bogoria has achieved fame as the "new home of flamingos", with a migrant population of up to two million birds. The reserve offers plenty of wildlife apart from flamingos including leopard and is one of few parks in Kenya accessible on foot and bike.

Lake Baringo is a fresh water lake and with its picturesque islands and encircling mountains is a spectacular sight. The lake has a lot of fish and consequently many herons, cormorants and marabus can be found here. On Gibraltar Island, a birders paradise, are breeding more Goliath herons then anywhere else in East Africa. Bird walks and boat rides are the most popular activities around Lake Baringo but cultural tours to local villages can be arranged as well.

Accommodation: Samatian Island or Island Camp Baringo

Day: 8 - 10 Masai Mara

Drive Lake Baringo – Lake Naivasha (ca. 3.5 hours), flight to Masai Mara (ca. 1 hour)

The Masai Mara – endless seas of golden grass dotted with hesitant shrubs, broken here and there with the ghostly acacia trees and ringed by distant hills, the chocolate Mara river waters with frolicking hippos, immensely rich animal life including countless game and large prides of lions – fulfils the expectations of any visitor searching the African landscapes portrayed in movies such as "Out of Africa". From July to October, this is the sight of one of the most spectacular and dramatic sites on earth - the annual migration of one million wildebeests and 200,000 zebras following the seasonal rains in a quest for the best pastures, finding along the way the crocodile-crowded river.

Accommodation: Saruni or Sala's Camp

Day: 11 - 12 Ngorongoro Crater

Flight Masai Mara – Lake Manyara (ca. 4 hours), transfer to Ngorongoro Crater (ca. 1 hour)

The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the natural wonders of the world; its six mountain peaks are constantly in view and sightings of the big five – lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo and leopard – are frequent. The plains and swamps teem with game and an enormous variety of birds. The conservation area is also home to Maasai people and their cattle which co-exist with the existing wildlife in a unique ecosystem. The foothills between the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Lake Manyara offer beautiful lush green landscapes dotted with picturesque coffee and tea plantations.

Accommodation: Crater Lodge or Gibb's Farm

Day: 13 - 15 Serengeti

Transfer Ngorongoro Crater – Serengeti (3-6 hours, depending on the camp)

The Serengeti is the jewel in the crown of Tanzania's parks and undoubtedly the best-known wildlife sanctuary in the world. With more than two million wildebeest, half a million Thomson's gazelle, and a quarter of a million zebra, it has the greatest concentration of plains game in Africa. The wildebeest and zebra moreover form the star cast of a unique spectacular - the annual migration. Its landscape has been sculptured by the concerted action of wind, rain and sun and varies from open grass plains in the south, savannah with scattered acacia trees in the centre, hilly, wooded grassland in the north, to extensive woodland and black clay plains to the west, while small rivers, lakes and swamps are scattered throughout.

Accommodation: Sayari Camp or Migration Camp

Day: 16 - 18 Selous

Flight Serengeti – Selous (3-4 hours)

Selous Game Reserve is Africa’s largest protected wildlife reserve, and due to its remote location, it has remained one of the untouched gems of Tanzania’s parks.

The Rufiji River is the striking feature of the game reserve and home to a plethora of varied water and bird life. Along its shores, hippos sleep languidly in the mud and sun themselves and crocodiles are common along the riverbanks. Boating safaris offer visitors a chance to see the diverse life along the river up close and walking safaris and fly camping add a sense of adventure to the African experience.
