Lake Manyara |
| Drive to Lake Manyara (3-4 hours)
Nestling at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, Lake Manyara National Park is stunningly beautiful and contains diverse habitats. As visitors enter the gate, they pass through lush forest, home to troops of baboons, blue monkeys and - during and shortly after the rainy seasons - through "clouds" of butterflies.
The vegetation eventually merges into flat topped acacia woodland where, in the heat of the day, the famous tree-climbing lions of Lake Manyara can be seen stretched on the branches of these trees. A large area of the park is covered by the slightly alkaline lake which is home to more than 400 species of birds including flamingoes and pelicans.

Drive Lake Manyara to Ngorongoro Crater (ca. hour)
The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the natural wonders of the world; its six mountain peaks are constantly in view and sightings of the big five – lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo and leopard – are frequent. The plains and swamps teem with game and an enormous variety of birds. The conservation area is also home to Maasai people and their cattle which co-exist with the existing wildlife in a unique ecosystem. The foothills between the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Lake Manyara offer beautiful lush green landscapes dotted with picturesque coffee and tea plantations.

Serengeti |
Transfer Ngorongoro Crater – Serengeti (3-5 hours, depending on the camp)
The Serengeti is the jewel in the crown of Tanzania's parks and undoubtedly the best-known wildlife sanctuary in the world. With more than two million wildebeest, half a million Thomson's gazelle, and a quarter of a million zebra, it has the greatest concentration of plains game in Africa.
The wildebeest and zebra moreover form the star cast of a unique spectacular - the annual migration. Its landscape has been sculptured by the concerted action of wind, rain and sun and varies from open grass plains in the south, savannah with scattered acacia trees in the centre, hilly, wooded grassland in the north, to extensive woodland and black clay plains to the west, while small rivers, lakes and swamps are scattered throughout.
