A short drive through the lush dense forest vegetation to the rim of Ngorongoro Crater from where you have stunning views into the breathtaking crater.
The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the natural wonders of the world with one of the highest wildlife densities on earth. In addition to large herds of antelopes, wildebeest and zebra, sightings of the Big Five, lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo and leopard, are frequent and the natural beauty of the crater adds grandeur to your safari experience that is unrivalled anywhere in Africa.
The conservation area is also home to Maasai people and their cattle which co-exist with the existing wildlife in a unique ecosystem. The foothills between the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Lake Manyara offer beautiful lush green landscapes dotted with small villages and picturesque coffee and tea plantation which you can explore on bicycle horseback or on wonderful walks.
Accommodation: Tloma Lodge or Plantation Lodge
Experience a beautiful flight over the amazing Ngorongoro Highlands into the heart of the Serengeti (1 hour).
The Serengeti is the jewel in the crown of Tanzania's parks and undoubtedly the best-known wildlife sanctuary in the world. With countless predators including lion, cheetah and leopard, more than two million wildebeest, half a million Thomson's gazelle, and a quarter of a million zebra, it has the greatest concentration of wildlife on our planet.
The wildebeest and zebra moreover form the star cast of a unique spectacular - the annual migration.
Between late December and March, you will be able to witness the great migration of more than 1 million wildebeest and zebra during the spectacular calving season. Between May and July you might be lucky to witness the fascinating spectacle of thousands of Wildebeest and Zebras crossing the crocodile infested Grumeti River together with their new born. From August to October, they move to the remote Northern Serengeti crossing the Mara River which is equally populated with giant Nile crocodiles.
Accommodation: Simiyu Mobile Camp or Sayari Camp
Enjoy a memorable last morning game drive in the Serengeti, before taking another scenic flight to Zanzibar (ca. 3-4 hours), a beautiful sight from the air, being surrounded by the turquoise Indian Ocean.
The lure of the "spice islands" is legendary. From exotic Stone Town, a city with a fascinating history that invites you to explore its narrow streets, to palm-fringed beaches and pristine coral reefs, Zanzibar is a complete change of pace from mainland Tanzania.
Stone Town, the old city and cultural heart of Zanzibar, has hardly changed in the last 200 years.
It is a place of winding alleys, bustling bazaars, mosques and grand houses, whose original owners competed with each other over the extravagance of their dwellings, which is reflected in the beautiful brass-studded, carved, wooden doors.
You can spend many wonderful hours and days exploring this fascinating town, just wandering through the labyrinth of narrow streets and alleyways. For a special memory, experience a romantic sunset sailing cruise with a traditional dhow with delicious bitings and your favourite drinks.
Accommodation: Zanzibar Coffee House or Zanzibar Palace
The drive across the island towards one of Zanzibar's picture postcard beaches takes you through villages and past spice farms.
Enjoy wonderfully relaxing days at the fine white sandy beaches, enjoy the book you never got around to read, take in the views of the spectacular turquoise sea, take long walks along the beach, swim with dolphins or discover the magnificent marine life and striking coral formations.
Accommodation: Pongwe or Matemwe Bungalows
Enjoy a last relaxing or active day before you cross the island back to Stone Town and take a flight to Dar es Salaam where you will connect with your flight back home.
