Days 1 - 2
From the capital Lusaka, a short flight takes you to Lower Zambezi

Lower Zambezi National Park is still relatively undeveloped and offers a great opportunity to get close to the wildlife wandering in and out of the Zambezi channels. Enormous herds of elephant, some up to 100 strong, are often seen at the rivers edge. ‘Island hopping’ buffalo and waterbuck are common and the park also hosts good populations of lion, leopard and fish eagle.

The Zambezi River is the lifeline of the park and its edger are overhung with a thick riverine fringe. Further inland is a floodplain fringed with mopane forest and interspersed with Acacia trees. The hills which form the backdrop to the park are covered in woodland and, together with the escarpment along the northern end which acts as a physical barrier to most of the parks animal species.
Enjoy wonderful game drives, bush walks and canoeing safaris on the Zambezi River.

South Luangwa
Days 3 - 5
A mid morning flight over the vast wilderness and countryside brings you to South Luangwa.

The concentration of game around the Luangwa River is one of the highest in Africa and South Luangwa is the Luangwa Valley's most accessible park. With 60 animal species and 400 different bird species, it is one of the Africa’s premier wilderness areas, famed for its seclusion, natural beauty and well-known for large herds of elephants; some numbering up to 70. Buffalo and various antelope species are prolific throughout the park.

In the river and adjoining pools, hippos and crocodiles can be seen in great numbers. The zebras peculiar to Luangwa can be seen everywhere: their stripes are evenly spaced as opposed to broad light stripes with a faint stripe in-between.
The Luangwa River is the most intact major river system in Africa and is the park's life line. Walking safaris originated in this park and is still one of the finest ways to experience this pristine wilderness. The changing seasons add to the Park’s richness ranging from dry, bare bushveld in the winter to a lush green wonderland in the summer months.

Accommodation: Mfuwe Lodge or Kapani Safari Lodge

Kafue
Days 6 - 8
Another flight via Lusaka takes you to Kafue.

Kafue is Zambia’s oldest park and by far the largest, spread over 22 400 square kilometres - the second largest national park in the world. Despite the Park’s proximity to both Lusaka and the Copper belt, it has remained underdeveloped until recent years. The Park is a raw and diverse slice of African wilderness with excellent game viewing, bird watching and fishing opportunities.
The park sustains huge herds of wildlife; thousands of red lechwe on the plains, the ubiquitous puku, the stately sable and roan antelopes in the woodland, the diminutive oribi just to mention but a few. Large prides of lion, solitary leopards and cheetahs are the prime predators. There is a host of smaller carnivores including the side-striped jackal, civet, genet and various mongoose.

Spread over such a vast area, the Kafue National Park encompasses a variety of landscapes - astounding plains in the northwestern section of the Park, tree-choked wilderness and the lush dambos of the south, fed by the emerald green rivers.
The spectacular Busanga Plains in the north is a vast flat expanse that stretches in all directions as far as the eye can see - one of Zambia’s most significant wetland resources and untouched by development or human activity. This vast watery wilderness, flooded in the wet season by several rivers and streams covers an enormous 750 square kilometres. After the rainy season, large herds of hippo are stranded in the shallow pools left as the water recedes in the dry season. The lush grasslands are grazed by red lechwe in their thousands. During the wet season they splash about in the shallow waters, and lion, who usually dislike water, can be seen chasing them through water at least a half a meter deep.
Enjoy game drives, bush walks, birdwatching and fishing on the Kafue and Lunga Rivers in this magnificent park.

Accommodation: Lufupa Tented Camp or Shumbe Camp

Victoria Falls
Days 9 - 10

Known as the Smoke that Thunders by the Kololo tribe living in the area two centuries ago, Victoria Falls is the seventh wonder of the world. Columns of spray can be seen from miles away, over a width of nearly two kilometres into a deep gorge over 100 meters below. The wide basalt cliff, over which the falls thunder, transforms the Zambezi from a wide placid river to a ferocious torrent cutting through a series of dramatic gorges.

Facing the Falls is another sheer wall of basalt, rising to the same height and capped by mist-soaked rain forest. A path along the edge of the forest provides guests with an unparalleled series of views of the Falls. One special vantage point is across the Knife edge bridge, where you can have the finest view of the Eastern Cataract and the main falls as well as the boiling pot where the river turns and heads down the Batoka Gorge. Other vantage points include the falls bridge and the lookout tree which commands a panoramic view across the main falls

Accommodation: Maramba or Tongabezi
