Experience why Rwanda is also called “the land of 1000 hills” as you drive through its scenic countryside to Volcanoes National Park (2 hours).
Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda is part of the Virunga Mountains protected area, which includes Mgahinga National Park in Uganda and Virunga National Park in Congo. The area is home to around 320 highly endangered Mountain Gorillas, a half of the world’s population.
A group of ranger will guide you up the slopes of the volcanoes to one of the gorilla families which will take between one and three hours, depending on the location of the gorilla family. Sitting face to face with a 160kg silverback in the impenetrable rain-forest is a one of a lifetime experience and certainly one of the highlights of every trip to Uganda and Rwanda.
Accommodation: Gorilla Mountain View or Sabyinyo Silverback

Today, you will drive back through the rolling hills to the Capital Kigali, where you will spend a night before your onward flight to the Serengeti.
Located at Rwanda’s geographical heart, Kigali is built in hilly country, sprawling across several hills and ridges and the valleys in between. Kigali retains the feel of a garden-city, the compact, low-rise city centre surrounding a busy, colourful market. The genocide memorial close to the city centre is well worth a visit and will give you a deeper understanding of the country’s recent history.
Accommodation: Kigali Serena

A scenic flight from Kigali over Lake Victoria takes you across the border to Tanzania and into the wilderness of the Serengeti (3-4 hours).
The Serengeti is the jewel in the crown of Tanzania's parks and undoubtedly the best-known wildlife sanctuary in the world. With countless predators including lion, cheetah and leopard, more than two million wildebeest, half a million Thomson's gazelle, and a quarter of a million zebra, it has the greatest concentration of wildlife on our planet.
The wildebeest and zebra moreover form the star cast of a unique spectacular - the annual migration. Between late December and March, you will be able to witness the great migration of more than 1 million wildebeest and zebra during the spectacular calving season. Between May and July you might be lucky to witness the fascinating spectacle of thousands of Wildebeest and Zebras crossing the crocodile infested Grumeti River together with their new born. From August to October, they move to the remote Northern Serengeti crossing the Mara River which is equally populated with giant Nile crocodiles.
Accommodation: Simiyu Mobile Camp or Serengeti Safari Camp

A spectacular flight over the vast Serengeti plains and the Ngorongoro Highlands will bring you to the foothills of Ngorongoro Crater.
The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the natural wonders of the world with one of the highest wildlife densities on earth. In addition to large herds of antelopes, wildebeest and zebra, sightings of the Big Five, lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo and leopard, are frequent and the natural beauty of the crater adds grandeur to your safari experience that is unrivalled anywhere in Africa.
The conservation area is also home to Maasai people and their cattle which co-exist with the existing wildlife in a unique ecosystem. The foothills between the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Lake Manyara offer beautiful lush green landscapes dotted with small villages and picturesque coffee and tea plantation which you can explore on bicycle horseback or on wonderful walks.
Accommodation: Gibbs Farm or Ngorongoro Crater Lodge

A short drive through the lush dense forest vegetation from the crater rim of Ngorongoro Crater brings you to the floor of the Rift Valley, where the alkaline Lake Manyara awaits you with fantastic birdlife and an equally high game density.
Nestling at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, Lake Manyara National Park is stunningly beautiful and contains diverse habitats. As you drive a around the park, enjoy lovely views of the Rift Valley escarpment and of Lake Manyara which attracts more than 400 species of birds, including flamingos and pelicans.
Watch elephants, buffalo, and hippo wallow in the mud pools, and in the heat of the day, look out for the famous tree-climbing lions of Lake Manyara which you can see - if you are lucky - stretched on the branches of trees.
Accommodation: Gibbs Farm or Lake Manyara Tree Lodge

Enjoy your last morning game drive before you take a scenic flight over the dramatically changing landscape of Northern Tanzania to Zanzibar and a short one hour drive through small villages and past spice farms brings you to one of the picture postcard beaches on the East Coast of the island.
Enjoy wonderfully relaxing days at the fine white sandy beaches, enjoy the book you never got around to read, take in the views of the spectacular turquoise sea, take long walks along the beach, swim with dolphins or discover the magnificent marine life and striking coral formations.
Accommodation: Breezes or Baraza
Enjoy a last day relaxing at the beach before you take a flight to Dar es Salaam on the mainland where you will connect with your flight back home.
