Enjoy a beautiful flight over the expansive, wild and remote mountainous terrain of Southern Tanzania to the Indian Ocean Coast (2.5 hours).
Approximately 35 km south of Dar es Salaam, Ras Kutani is accessible by air or road. The shoreline along Ras Kutani comprises wide sandy beaches, backed by palm trees and at intervals by small cliffs and rocky outcrops.
Unlike many locations in East Africa, the beach here at Ras Kutani is not generally used by local people, since there are no villages in the immediate vicinity. The freshwater lagoon on the landward side of the beach and the forested lagoon at the shores contrast with the open seaward side where the waves of the Indian Ocean wash against an endless beach under a broad blue sky.
Take a walk along the beautiful beach without being hassled by anyone. enjoy swimming at all tides and snorkelling right from the beach, explore the coastline in a kayak or on horseback or simply enjoy the beautiful views of the turquoise sea with a book and your favourite.
